Meet Casey! Casey is an avid ultra runner (Nicknamed “Ultra Flash”) who attempts to balance ultra-training with being a devoted husband, father to one beautiful little girl, and a career in health care as a Cancer Biobank Laboratory Manager and Adjunct Professor in the Health Sciences at Towson University. He grew up in South Florida playing high school sports (Baseball, Football), fishing, spearfishing, free diving, and Scuba diving. When Casey moved to Maryland in 2006, he left the ocean behind and started running. After running his first half marathon in 2007, he was hooked and moved onto marathons shortly after. Casey ran his first ultra “The JFK 50 miler” in 2011 and immediately fell in love with ultras. Within a week after JFK, he signed up for his first 100 miler “The Graveyard 100”, which he finished in March 2012. Since then he has completed around 50 ultra-events, including eleven (!!!) 100 milers. Running ultras gives Casey the opportunity to travel to amazing places with his family, meet awesome people, and test the limits of his body.
Thanks for being apart of our Thunder Squad and being an inspiration to us, Casey!
