Run For Black Lives Fundraiser

This past Wednesday was Global Running Day. A day normally reserved to celebrate the joy and love of running. However, this Global Running Day felt different. The unrest we are experiencing due to the systemic racism that has plagued our country has made us feel helpless. So many of us want to do something more. To speak up, act out, stand up. We want to make a difference and stand up for our black communities. Now is not a time to simply ignore what is going on around us and celebrate in our usual love of running. As the shoe company Reebok said, "We are not asking you to buy our shoes, we are asking you to walk in someone else's."

We can't be silent and sit idly back. If you are anything like us, you've been thinking of what you can do to stand in solidarity and be an ally to our beloved black friends, families and communities. So we want to set up a means from which we can all start from. 

So this Global Running Day, we're asking you to Run for Black Lives and take part in our GoFundMe. Until June 10th, we are asking you to donate $0.50 - $1 for each of the miles you log. Your donation will go towards the NAACP Legal and Defense Fund which is working hard to transform the racial injustice and inequality in the US. You can read more about their mission and work here:

It's really up to you how it works. Here's how you can donate:

-If you don't want to log miles to donate, we will happily accept any donation you want to offer in support of the NAACP LDF.
-Log your miles throughout the week and make your mileage based donation of $0.50 - $1.00 per mile, daily.
-Wait until the end of the week to calculate and donate in one full about based on the mileage you've run.

We must stand together and in solidarity. We must educate ourselves. We must speak out. We must try. We might fail. But we must keep trying.
